Pencil Portraits

We have started doing a pencil portrait. Mr Marquand took a photo of us and deleted one half of our face. We are drawing the other side. First, we practiced doing an eye, because if your eye looks good, then the whole portrait looks good.
Mr Marquand has taught us to have contrast in our drawing. This means having parts that are really dark as well as having parts that are light. We measured our face using a ruler so that we had the right proportions.

I don't really find art very easy. I hope that doing this portrait this will help me to get a bit better. I didn't have much trouble drawing my eye, and for some reason I have been finding my nose harder to draw than my eye.
