        FRACTIONS.

In maths, we have been learning how to convert a decimal into a fraction, and a fraction into a decimal.

We also learned how to make equivalent fractions. Example:

4/5 is equivalent to 8/10. The way I worked this out is by multiplying both numerator and denominator by 2. I never knew it was that easy.

To convert a fraction to a decimal, All you need to do is think of what 0.1 is. There is one tenth in this, so that means as a fraction it is 1/10. Easy.

The fraction has to be 10, 100, or 1000, because this makes it  the same as the decimal

If you have 4/5 and you want to convert it into a decimal, then all you have to do is double the numerator and the denominator, which will make 8/10. Now you just have to make it into 0.8, and then you have converted a fraction to a decimal!☺

You can also jump it up to 80/100, but the decimal will still be 0.8, because 80/100 and 8/10 are equivalent fractions.

Converting a decimal into a fraction is the same, but backwards.
