Fast fashion is not good. It harms our environment, and the workers that make the clothes are treated badly. It’s also bad for the health of the farmers. Fast Fashion. If you don’t know what it is, It’s a thing where people buy lots of clothes, but hardly ever wear all of them. The shops are constantly changing what they sell in their store. This draws in lots of people that want to buy clothes, making the shop earn lots of money, whereas in the clothing industry, the workers that made those clothes were treated like slaves to get it done, and yet they don't even get worn. The workers get paid a low amount of money, and the clothes they made don't get used. I think this is horrible.

Here is some more facts about fast fashion and what happens in the clothing industry:

There are three main reasons why fast fashion is bad. For the environment, the working conditions of the workers, and, what it does to people’s health.

Fast fashion is bad for the environment because It causes pollution. It may seem weird, but the  way it causes pollution is from the chemicals that are used for the cotton farming, cleaning the clothes that get made, and inside the factories.Fast fashion is 2nd on the list of things that are polluting our planet.this is not good and it has to stop. Over 37kgs of clothing wastes are sent to dump-sites each year. That’s a heap of clothes if you ask me.                                                                                    

Fast Fashion is bad for the workers in the factories because they are treated badly. They work hard all day and only get paid 3 dollars a day (USD, in NZD, it’s $4.33). I would hate to have that as my job.

A factory in bangladesh collapsed because the owner couldn’t afford to keep it safe. He kept all his workers working and it collapsed while they were still in there! Check out the damage:

In the shops, Prices are going down which is causing the factories to earn less, so they can't pay their workers. It isn’t really their fault that they can't pay them, it's the shops and the brands that buy off them that should be shameful. They demand cheaper prices and threaten to switch to buying from another factory if they don't lower their prices. This is bad, and It has to stop, otherwise the country making the clothes won’t  keep earning lots of money, causing the workers to be treated more and more like slaves. We can't let this keep going. The stores need to stop being so greedy.   

Fast Fashion affects people’s health because of the farming for the cotton. The spray is bad for the people in the village and it can cause metal issues to them. A woman waited for her child to die because he was so sick. That’s horrible isn't it!?

A cotton farmer in The U.S.A died of lung cancer because of the chemicals he was using on his farm. His wife now owns the farm and does not use these chemicals anymore.                                                                                                         

There are also reasons why Fast Fashion is good. This is quite confusing, really. Most of the facts are about it being bad, so I think of Fast Fashion as a bad thing.

Here Are the facts for Fast Fashion being good:

Fast Fashion is good because the money that the garment factories get paid for the clothes will make their country richer, making the factories able to treat the workers better (If they’re nice and don’t keep the money for themselves!) Without the Fashion industry we wouldn't have any clothes!

Fast fashion can be made better. It’s going to be a hard thing to do, but it’s entirely possible. The people who can do the best of the help is the brands, The shops, the factory owners and the governments. These groups of people have power to change it. But guess what? SO DO WE. We Also have power to change it. If all these people help the fashion industry, then planet earth is going to be a better place, so we all need to do so.
